212 cats found in a condemned Leo Indiana home |

LEO, Ind. (WANE) -- An officer with the Allen County Sheriff's Department thought he'd only have to remove about 40 cats from a condemned home in Leo. Instead he found 212. On July 23, Officer David Baber went to the home located at 15217 Amstutz Road. The home had been condemned by the Allen County Building Department at the request of the Fort Wayne - Allen County Department of Health. The day before, an inspection of the home found feces scattered throughout and there was a strong smell of ammonia. Officer Baber met the homeowner who was going to help him remove the animals. The homeowner would put the cats in cages and Officer Baber would take them to the Fort Wayne Department of Animal Care and Control facility. After more than 40 cats were removed, the homeowner told Officer Baber that she had miscalculated the number and she was really unsure how many cats were inside. The homeowner said that about two and a half years ago, there were just a male cat and two females. She told Officer Baber that all of the cats in the home were descendents of those three cats. When all of the cats were rounded up, 206 were taken to the animal shelter, five cats were allowed to leave with the homeowner and one cat escaped after scratching Officer Baber. Officer Baber went inside the home to make sure all the cats had been removed and he found the smell of cat urine and feces to be overpowering. The hardwood floors were buckled from urine and the drywall was saturated with urine in several areas. A 13-year old boy and a 16-year old girl had been living in the home. All of the 206 cats taken to the animal shelter were euthanized. Peggy Bender with the Fort Wayne Department of Animal Care and Control said the animals were not fit for adoption and could not be rehabilitated. Source: WANE TV-15

Antidepressants |

First off, don't flame me without reading this fully. If you have a different view or outlook, then please post it and make this diverse. I am wondering what everybody's views are about prescription antidepressants. The most common drug used is Fluoxetine which is marketed under several names including: sarafem, prozac, paxil, serzone and effexor. The purpose behind these drugs are to level out the hormones and endorphine levels in the brain to chemically treat depression. How effective are these drugs? In a placebo study, it has been proven, that a placebo is almost just as effective in treating clinical depression than the actual drugs themselves. How much better off are we? Would you rather deal with a bunch of emos who are depressed and think the world is out to destroy them, or would you rather deal with a bunch of drugged up psychopaths? More often than not, people on these meds experience an INCREASED level of suicidal tendencies. The half life on these drugs are usually a couple of weeks, which means they remain in the body for a long duration, even after the person has ceased the use of them. If you've ever been around people who are hyped up on these, they are often times more b****y and have a more heightened level of anxiety than they do when they're OFF the d*** things. They're b****y and tough to be around. There are so many cases out there of people who go mental and shoot up a bunch of people or family members and then kill themselves. So why doesn't the government step in and do something about it? Heh. Why would they? The pharmaceutical companies rake in BILLIONS of dollars every year off these d*** people who feel the need to dope themselves up in order to deal with their problems. If the government puts an end to it, they'd be loosing out on tax money every year. Why do we live in a society where people feel the need to drug themselves up every time there is a little problem in their life? Why do people feel the need to misuse drugs, overdose or illicitly sell these d*** drugs? Life is a b****, not everything is going to be perfect. f***ing learn to deal with your problems instead of being a bunch of whine babies and dropping money into the hands of people who don't need it for f***ing drugs which are unnecessary.

Christianity |

Ok, this is being linked from my Stellar Kart topic, so I'm going to start by explaining that. First off, nobody comes to God unless they need something. It's the sad, yet simple, truth. The only reason someone, that wasn't raised a Christian (and sometimes even ones that were), will turn to God is when they've exhausted all the other decisions, they're backed in a corner, and they have no way out. It's at this point that they are most receptive to the Word, because they want to have a way out and when the world won't help, they shoot for something higher. I believe the CD player in the video represents His Word. The guy is going around to those that are lost in the fallen world. There are those who think that they are making it just fine without the help of some God (unfortunately, this outlook is most often found in men. Believing God helps you in everything you do makes you weak, supposedly). Those are the people that turned him down when he offered the song. Then there were those that took it reluctantly and showed a positive outlook afterward. This is supposed to represent those that took in the Word, and held onto it. When you see that you've always got Jesus on your side, holding onto you when no one else is, your problems (the annonymizer) seems to just vanish. Suddenly it doesn't seem so bad when you know that He will pull you through. The issue following that is that people will take this and justify it to their personal wants. They will then turn to Him in hopes of Him giving them everything the want. They try to make Him their Santa Clause or their magic genie. It's not that simple. Asking God to give you one million dollars doesn't make it plop in your lap (obviously). When they pray for lots of money in a day, and it doesn't happen, they lose faith and give up. Let's think about this for a second. You can have a God that helps you when He knows you need it, not when you want it, or you can keep going by yourself anyway. If this offends anyone, I'm glad. That means that you've looked at yourself and realized that one of these negative points hits you. Check to see what "annonymizer" is blocking your vision from the beautiful world that was created by our Lord! Obviously, I'm not a pastor. I am in leadership mentoring meetings with mine every Saturday morning and keep close contact with his son. If you have any questions, post them up or PM me if they're a little personal. If I don't know the answer, I'll ask Pastor Diehl (leaving names out) and I'll find it for you. May God pour out blessing to all your lives!
